On March 15, Poltava hosted the first offsite conference “WAB Better Future” for volunteers and volunteer candidates from Poltava and Kirovohrad regions. This event brought together people who are already working on the key children’s areas of the foundation, as well as those who want to join. We did not just meet to discuss our activities, but presented our projects and jointly identified further steps for the development of each area.

Today, our volunteers are actively involved in three main programs:
✨ Children and War is a project that helps children who have gone through traumatic experiences due to the war. Volunteers are already working with children, holding meetings and psychological trainings. At the conference, we discussed how to expand the format of assistance.
📖 “Life Lessons” is an educational program for teenagers, in which our volunteers help young people develop skills of responsibility, communication and personal growth. During the meeting, we identified the topics that interest teenagers the most and looked for new ways to engage young people in learning.
👫 “Mentoring” – volunteers support children who need an adult by their side. At the conference, we discussed how to make this support even more effective: how to select mentors, how to interact with children better, and how to organize their leisure time.

The conference was not just a discussion of plans, but an important step in improving our projects. Volunteers shared their experiences, challenges, and achievements to find the best solutions together.
We are grateful to everyone who devotes their time and heart to this cause! There is still a lot of work to be done, but with such a team, anything is possible. 💙
