We are pleased to announce that on February 1, 2025, the charitable foundation “Vav Better Future” launched the second season of the project “Children and War”. This program was designed to teach children step-by-step and practically implement skills and methods that help overcome the psychological effects of war.
During the first season of the project, our volunteers, after receiving special training in February 2024, applied their knowledge in groups in the following localities: Kamianske, Myrhorod, Znamianka, Pavlysh, Bautzen (Germany), Zhytomyr, Borodyanka, Pluzhne, Izyaslav, Lviv, Cherkasy, Zhmerynka, and Kamianets-Podilskyi. The participants of the training program, including local and internally displaced children, were able to learn effective techniques for overcoming fear, panic, and stress.
The program of the Children and War project includes various techniques, including breathing practices and working with emotions through the Secret Room method. As the experience of the first stream showed, it was initially difficult for children to open up to new information, but the proposed life hacks and techniques aroused their interest and helped them better understand their emotions.
It is important to note that this project is relevant not only for those directly affected by the war. It also helps to cope with other difficult life circumstances, making it useful for a wide range of people.
Our team is currently actively working to support children in orphanages, helping them with socialization and self-determination. However, we are very happy to continue this important initiative and are ready to join in again to help children in need.
